Bellevue is rocking…

…with social media ‘buzz’ that is!  Last night there was a very vibrant tweet up at Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar in downtown Bellevue.  Seastar was nice enough to offer their entire, very large bar - where other patrons were able to eat and drink as well - for a “tweet up”, networking event, ’slash’ get together of people who are involved in “Tech”, start ups, etc mainly on the Eastside.  And to my point…it’s very much alive and going on in Bellevue in this regard.  Joe Kennedy was there from www.EastsideEntrepreneurs.com and a million other things he does on the Eastside involving entrepreneurs, tech, etc.  Great guy!  A great fit as a connector and someone who makes things happen, especially large events on the Eastside.  Phillip Lee from myBuzz was there as well.  He among others have very compelling products percolating in Bellevue.

A lot of the Eastside crew are Microsoft based or are previously from Microsoft.  This adds a dimension you might not see at a Seattle event.  All good people in both Seattle and Bellevue - of course!  But as one put it last night - maybe more ‘business’ oriented people on the Eastside while the Seattle tech scene is more tech focused.  What do I mean by that?  Coders and “geeks” in Seattle…social media, project management and marketing ‘geeks’ on the Eastside!  This is a broad swipe that might not hold together in certain arguments - just one man’s observation - but I think a few would generally agree.

The point?  Get involved in both Seattle and Bellevue.  Bellevue is certainly alive and well though.  A LOT of people turn out for these events.  It’s great to see….
